Director of Development & Communications

Mollie Shepardson serves as the Director of Development & Communications for the Museums of Western Colorado, where she leads fundraising, marketing, communications, community partnerships, and strategic initiatives that support the organization’s mission to inspire curiosity and connect people with the history, culture, and science of Western Colorado.

A Grand Junction native, Mollie brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit communications, marketing, fundraising, and community engagement. Prior to joining the Museums of Western Colorado, she held leadership roles with HopeWest and the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, helping organizations strengthen community relationships and expand philanthropic support.

Mollie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in Emerging Technology from San Diego State University. She is passionate about storytelling, building meaningful connections, and creating experiences that help people feel welcome, engaged, and invested in their community.
