The Museums of Western Colorado is closely monitoring the Snyder Fire and remains in regular communication with local emergency management officials.

At this time, Dinosaur Journey, Museum of the West, and Cross Orchards Historic Site remain open during normal business hours. We continue to monitor conditions closely and will adjust operations if necessary to ensure the safety of our visitors, staff, volunteers, and collections.

Access to our Dinosaur Dig site has been restored, and Dinosaur Digs are operating as scheduled. We appreciate the patience and flexibility of our guests while temporary public land closures were in effect. Should conditions change, affected participants will be contacted directly with available options.

As part of our Emergency & Disaster Plan, our staff has implemented precautionary measures to help protect our collections and facilities while continuing to safely welcome visitors.

We are deeply grateful to the firefighters, emergency responders, land management agencies, and volunteers working tirelessly to protect our communities and public lands. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if conditions affecting museum operations or programs change.
