Douglas Pass Fossils

- Spend a day in the sub alpine forest of Douglas Pass exploring and splitting soft shales from the Eocene Epoch, some 50 million years ago. We will be discovering fossil leaves and insects from an ancient lake that once stretched across western Colorado.

Traildust Theropod Quarry 2-Day Dig

- This expedition is for those who like a challenge. Fossil bones of the theropod Allosaurus are plentiful at the site, but they are embedded in a hard sandstone. We will be breaking out the hammers and chisels to excavate these bones from a top predator of the Jurassic.

Rivers, Tracks, & Dinosaurs 3-Day Expedition

- Experience the Western Slope’s “Classic Jurassic”. Raft the black water (= calm water) of the Colorado River to see canyon geology, then at Mygatt-Moore Quarry spend a day as a paleontologist digging for dinosaur bones. On day three, we’ll go west to Moab for dinosaur trackways from the Jurassic and Cretaceous.

- Walk in the footsteps of giants! Travel with us to scenic Moab, UT and find where dinosaurs once roamed. We’ll see tracks from small stalking raptors to colossal sauropods, and even stop by the new Utahraptor State Park and the Moab Giants Museum.
