Meeting the people who wrote them.\n  \nThursday\, October 15 | 6–8 p.m. \nMuseum of the West \nSettle in for a fall evening of books\, refreshments and great Western Colorado stories at the Museum of the West. \nWe’re bringing together two local authors with two very different stories to tell—from the explorers and early routes that shaped Western Colorado to a heartwarming children’s story about finding family and belonging. \n  \nTravel the Trails That Shaped Western Colorado\nFormer Museum of the West curator David P. Bailey spent 28 years uncovering and sharing the stories of our region. \nHis newest book\, Navigating Western Colorado: Early Expeditions and the Birth of Transportation on the Frontier\, takes readers back before highways and paved roads\, when Ute and Spanish trails\, mountain men’s pathways and military wagon roads crossed Western Colorado’s rugged landscape. \nReleased for Colorado’s 150th anniversary\, the book explores how the journeys of those who traveled here before us helped shape the Western Colorado we know today. \n  \nA Story About Finding Home\nWestern Colorado native Janielle Westermire found inspiration a little closer to home—among the alpacas\, llamas\, goats\, ducks and chickens on her family farm. \nHer children’s book\, Faith Finds a Home\, illustrated by Hannah Cunningham\, is a warm story about belonging and the idea that family isn’t only something we’re born into—it can also be something we find. \nJanielle now works as a Behavioral Interventionist in the school district and loves seeing children’s imaginations come alive through stories. \n  \nSpend the Evening With Us\nHear the stories behind both books\, meet the authors and enjoy refreshments inside the Museum of the West. \nBring a friend\, bring the family\, or simply come spend a cozy October evening with fellow book and history lovers. \nThursday\, October 15 | 6–8 p.m.\nMuseum of the West | 462 Ute Avenue\, Grand Junction \nAdults: $5\nChildren: FREE\nMWC Members: FREE \n  \n[GET TICKETS]  \n\n\n	Related
